It was a weekday afternoon in Miami. The sun was out. Palm trees surrounded a luxury apartment pool. Music played softly in the background. She had money, freedom, designer bags, and a body she had worked hard for.

The Early Wounds That Shape Adult Lives

Jessica grew up in a stable home with married parents, financial security, and opportunity. Yet emotionally, she often felt unseen.

Her brother, older and harsh, called her stupid, ugly, and unwanted. Her father loved deeply but expressed it indirectly. Hugs were rare. Words of affirmation were absent.

Nothing was intentionally harmful.
But impact does not require intent.
